sub-departments of the Public Works Department now appointed under the revision to the revived grade of Executive Engineer have protested against the salaries allotted to them in that grade. We cannot accept their arguments which ignore the fact that the whole of their salary in the revived grade will be pensionable and drawn on leave while the Charge Allowance instituted in connection with the 1920 revision was neither pensionable nor drawn on leave.
